STEAM
Hello, my name is Szuying McFarland.  I'm a 6th grade teacher who is teaching DLI Chinese classes. I am passionate about teaching after school STEAM Enrichment class.  The after school STEAM Enrichment class is open to grades four through six.  If you have any questions, my email is szuying.mcfarland@jordandistrict.org

What is an after school STEAM Enrichment class?

A STEAM Enrichment Class is a gathering place that meets after school regularly in an informal environment to work on inquiry-based STEAM related activities that encourage students to be problem-solvers and critical thinkers.  Each month, students will participate in hands-on activities that are both fun and challenging.  Students will work as a team and use the scientific method to plan, design and create projects to present to the class.

What does STEAM stand for?

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.  STEAM is a national organization started by the federal government to promote science and mathematics in K-12 classrooms.

When does STEAM meet?

STEAM Enrichment class will by held at 2:15 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. on November 30, December 7, January 25, February 22, March 29, April 26 and May 24 for those students who already registered for the After School STEAM Enrichment class.

How can parents get involved?
