Linda Carter is Educator of the Month

Linda Carter is Monte Vista’s Educator of the Month for April.  It’s a special time for Linda, as she is retiring at the end of this school year. Linda was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii.  She has been teaching for 30 years, and has been part of Monte Vista, teaching second grade for 18 of those years!  She has a long resume of awards and endorsements, and has been a district leader in science and writing.  Congratulations, Linda, on this award as well as your upcoming retirement.  We will miss you!

Teachers receive GrantsCongratulations to Shawn Colyer, Yi Lou, and Szu Ying McFarland who together received over $4,000 to support classroom needs after applying for grants from the Jordan Education Foundation. Mayor Dawn Ramsey and Jordan Education Foundation David Jenkins presented the awards at faculty meeting on February 23. Teachers are using grants particularly to support enhanced technology in their classrooms. Congratulations!
