Monte Vista Elementary will increase student academic achievement by 2% in English Language Arts and Mathematics by the end of the 2015-16 school year.

Measurement of Student Growth and Progress:

Student growth and progress will be measured with on-going progress monitoring tools such as benchmark and unit tests, guided reading levels, running records, DIBELS, SRI, Fontas & Pinnell, common formative assessments, and SAGE testing data.

 

  • Action Plan:
    All students will receive appropriate small group instruction in guided reading groups from their classroom teacher.
  • Students who do not show adequate growth and/or who are identified as below grade level on reading assessments will receive Tier 2 intervention support from their classroom teacher and from the assistants trained in the “My Sidewalks” reading intervention program.
  • Instructional assistants will be provided to assist in progress monitoring and data collection to support small group instruction and intervention.
  • Instructional assistants will be provided to assist with small group instruction, intervention, and enrichment for mathematics instruction at all grade levels as needed.
